Description

Senior centers serve the community by providing meals, recreational activities, transportation assistance and wellness programs to older adults. There are over 11,000 senior centers in the US today, serving over one million people. They rely on funding sources from governmental sources, private grants, special events, in-kind donations and volunteer hours. Access is not equal, and senior centers in underserved communities struggle to make ends meet, much less provide dynamic programming.

Get your team working together with this fun and original teambuilding activity which results in a generous donation of art supplies for senior centers! Art projects have been shown to benefit seniors with everything from improving quality of life to improved motor skills and communication.

This teambuilding activity is ideal for organizations seeking to focus on strengthening trust within existing teams or newly formed groups. In “Replicating Artwork,” your group is divided into teams that work together to replicate a provided piece of artwork, relying only on the power of communication. The designated artists on the teams cannot see the art they are attempting to replicate. Rather, they must rely on the communication skills of their colleagues and their own listening skills to re-create their assigned piece of art. The team that replicates the original the closest wins! Teams then work together to assemble art supplies to be donated to a local senior center, decorating the box with messages of encouragement.

This activity is customizable to meet your goals and objectives, as well as logistics. We can implement the “Replicating Artwork” activity in the following ways:

  • Philanthropic Donation Only – The base of all our programs; participants will learn about the cause and beneficiary and then get to work on the donation assembly.
  • Mental & Physical Challenges – Competitive program/cause themed challenge activities in which teams score points based on performance prior to assembling the donation.
  • Trivia Quiz Show Teams earn donation materials through an interactive trivia game with cause and customizable company related content.

To close our events, we invite a representative from the beneficiary to express their gratitude and raise awareness on the impact their work has on the community. This establishes a direct connection to the cause and organization your team is supporting.
