Many educational institutions have increased emphasis on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) skills for youth. However, not all students/communities have access to resources that help foster an interest in STEAM education. Technological literacy is an important aspect of education, and this community service activity strives to provide today’s youth with the best possible tools to excel via the donation of coding computers and a coding collage made by your team!
During the virtual event, individuals create coded “STEM Messages/Images of Encouragement”. Don’t worry, we provide cheat sheets so that participants at any skill level can make one in little time! Following the event, attendees upload them to a file sharing site and we create a collage of all the coded messages. We send the collage to the beneficiary organization, along with brand new coding computers for kids to use and explore to learn.
We also offer a Computer 4 Kids In-Person activity.
To close our events, we invite a representative from the beneficiary to express their gratitude and raise awareness on the impact their work has on the community. This establishes a direct connection to the cause and organization your team is supporting.
