“Financial literacy” is the ability to understand how money works in the world. This is an important concept for youth to grasp at an early age, which is why schools and after school facilities offer educational programming designed to prepare young people for the real world via financial literacy skills.

Impact 4 Good offers an interactive, competitive team building activity aimed at donating tools to help children become financially literate AND help budding entrepreneurs. Teams compete in a customized version of Monopoly that involves answering client business content and financial literacy-themed questions to earn properties with a unique twist: teams are made up of event attendees and a local school student! The team that gets the most questions correct in the time allotted wins!

Kiva.org is a non-profit organization that is revolutionizing the fight against global poverty by enabling people to connect with and make personal loans to low-income entrepreneurs in the developing world. Kiva Cards are equal to small loans. Following the Monopoly game, attendees and students receive Kiva Cards to make REAL LOANS to REAL KIVA BORROWERS, and learn about financial literacy in a real-life manner together. The beneficiary school or after-school program receives an additional set of Kiva Cards to use in the classroom as learning tools.
