Description

STEAM-focused jobs are growing more rapidly than any other career field. But students, particularly girls and underrepresented minorities, are often not encouraged to pursue these opportunities at a young age, and in many cases do not have access to STEAM programming. Zip codes should not dictate futures, and our “Pipeline Challenge” activity helps students learn basic STEAM principles.

This program donates STEAM Experiment Kits to local charter schools or after-school programs focused on STEAM education to help kids learn important skills with a hands-on approach.

“Pipeline Challenge” is a collaborative team event where teams compete to build the most efficient ping pong ball delivery system on their tables. Teams use bamboo, cardboard, rope and more to allow a ping pong ball to travel from the first team in the pod to the last, earning points for number of turns, length and height of the pipeline and more! Ultimately, the winning team and winning pod are determined after an exciting finale.

Along the way, teams pack STEAM kits to donate to a local school or afterschool program so that students can have the same fun as your group while learning important skills.

Please note that we have two options for the pipeline construction: a large room edition or a tabletop edition. Our team will work with you to determine which format works best for your event.

To close our events, we invite a representative from the beneficiary organization to express their gratitude and raise awareness on the impact their work has on the community. This establishes a direct connection to the cause and organization your team is supporting.
