Pipeline Challenge Tabletop Edition

STEAM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) focus on students’ engagement and skills from the earliest grades in science, math, creativity, and technology to help foster interest in later school years and careers. The ultimate goal is to increase students’ proficiency in science and mathematics. As demand for scientists and mathematicians is projected to grow dramatically because of alternative energy and global warming, the number of students entering these fields is not growing at a comparable rate. 

This program donates STEAM kits to a local charter school or after-school program focused on STEAM education, helping kids learn important skills through a hands-on approach. 

“Pipeline” is a synergistic team development event where participants collaborate to build a tabletop ping pong ball delivery system with interconnected segments. Ultimately, the goal is to build a system in which a ping pong ball travels from the start to the end point within their structure.  Strategy is key, as teams earn points based on their design and implementation!  

Along the way, teams pack STEAM kits and prepare a “message of encouragement” sticker to adorn the kit that will be donated to local youth who will learn STEAM skills in a hands-on way. 

To close our events, we invite a representative from the beneficiary organization to express their gratitude and raise awareness of the impact their work has on the community. This establishes a direct connection to the cause and organization your team is supporting.
