Description

Literacy is the foundation of education. It molds young, impressionable minds into informed and empathetic lifelong learners. Children learn confidence and their potential not only by those around them, but by the representation and inspiration they find in the media they are given access to. Books let children learn the beauty of freedom and endless possibilities. However, roughly one in four children in the United States grow up without learning how to read.

The actual flow of this literacy event is simple to organize but dynamic and rewarding. After a quick introduction from a facilitator going into depth on the benefitting organization and cause, participants scan a QR code on their phones and begin a trivia competition to earn supplies for the donation portion of the event. The questions are tailored to the interests of the group and range from the knowledge of the employer to pop culture to literary favorites!

Once the competition is over, everyone uses the supplies provided to make bookmarks and bookplates for local youth. Your company can opt to participate in a book drive prior to the event, however books are also included in the program price!

This activity is customizable to meet your goals and objectives, as well as logistics. We can implement the “Readers to Leaders” activity in the following ways:

  • In-person or Hybrid activity format
  • Philanthropic Donation Only – The base of all our programs; participants will learn about the cause and beneficiary and then get to work on the donation assembly.
  • Trivia Quiz Show – Teams earn donation materials through an interactive trivia game with cause and customizable company related content.

To close our events, we invite a representative from the beneficiary to express their gratitude and raise awareness on the impact their work has on the community. This establishes a direct connection to the cause and organization your team is supporting.

We also offer “Readers to Leaders” Impact Kits for a “do it yourself” activity.

Impact 4 Good made our day of service fun and engaging for the entire team. The project brought our team together and we loved being able to have the representative of our beneficiary join in on the fun! The I4G team was great in helping us prepare and were always very responsive. It felt almost too easy leading up to the event, but I knew they had it all covered!
