Description
Science shapes our world, and educational institutions are recognizing this by emphasizing STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) skills for youth. But access to resources varies. Not all students and communities have the tools to foster STEAM education. All too often, zip codes dictate future opportunities in STEAM fields, which are experiencing faster growth than most. This community service activity aims to bridge the gap by donating educational computers and STEAM Hero capes, equipping today’s youth with tools to excel in related fields.
As the activity begins, our lead facilitator shares information about the importance of STEAM for kids, as well as the work the beneficiary organization does to help local youth.
The goal of this event is to assemble computers that will be donated to a local children’s charity with a focus on STEAM education and coding, as well as to design a superhero cape to encourage students to become STEAM superheroes!
This activity is customizable to meet your goals and objectives, as well as logistics. We can implement the “Computer 4 Kids” activity in the following ways:
- Philanthropic Donation Only – The base of all our programs; participants will learn about the cause and beneficiary and then get to work on the donation assembly.
- Trivia Quiz Show – Teams earn donation materials through an interactive trivia game with cause and customizable company related content.”
To close our events, we invite a representative from the beneficiary to express their gratitude and raise awareness on the impact their work has on the community. This establishes a direct connection to the cause and organization your team is supporting.
