Description

Even during periods of strong economic growth, there are often obstacles to getting hired. Individuals facing challenges such as disabilities, language barriers, inadequate education or training, or transitioning veterans encountering difficulties in entering the civilian workforce often find themselves unable to find employment opportunities.

According to the U.S. Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, support from the community enables individuals to expand skills and experience so that they may secure satisfying careers and the tangible benefits of employment. Community support provides opportunities to:

  • Build relationships
  • Sharpen Workplace Skills
  • Learn work skills

This event provides support to disadvantaged job seekers through team-created employment advice videos, a laptop donation, and a customized gift box with encouraging messages to job candidates.

After learning about the cause and beneficiary, teams compete in an interactive trivia challenge to earn the materials needed for the donation. Questions revolve around cause/beneficiary themed trivia, general/pop culture trivia, and customizable corporate themes/trivia. Participants answer the questions and earn points for questions they get correct and additional points for being the first to answer the question correctly. Different rounds keep the group excited and engaged throughout!

To close our events, we invite a representative from the beneficiary to express their gratitude and raise awareness on the impact their work has on the community. This establishes a direct connection to the cause and organization your team is supporting.
