Earth Day 2017 is this Saturday, April 22nd. Earth Day first began in 1970, as American began to understand the dire importance of protecting the health and well-being of our planet. The original 70’s “movement” has now grown into what their founders tout as “the largest secular observance in the world, celebrated by more than a billion people every year, and a day of action that changes human behavior and provokes policy changes.”
There are numerous ways to get involved in Earth Day 2017:
- Visit EarthDay.org to read more about how making simple changes in your everyday actions to reduce your environmental “footprint” can have a lasting and positive impact on our planet.
- Websites like VolunteerMatch.org provide real time search options for volunteer projects in your own community that are “environmentally” focused.
- You can also visit us at www.Impact4good.com to bring environmentally focused CSR activities that give back to your next meeting or event.
And, as they have eloquently stated on the www.EarthDay.org website:
“Today, the fight for a clean environment continues with increasing urgency, as the ravages of climate change become more manifest every day. We invite you to be a part of Earth Day and help write many more chapters—struggles and victories—into the Earth Day book”
